His mother found out about his faith but said that she wasn't interested in following Jesus. Recently, however, she confided in her son that she had a spiritual dream. In the dream, she was reading and reciting the Quran. Every time she read a verse in this book that Muslims consider holy and God-given, a demon would appear before her. In Islamic thought, the reading of the Quran is supposed to drive away demons, not cause them to appear! So, after hearing about his mother's dream, Bassel told her that the reason the demons were appearing is because the Quran is not from God. Give thanks to God for giving Bassel the boldness to share his faith in his family and beyond! Pray that just like some of his friends have already believed, more of his friends and family members will follow suit by boldly believing in, following, and proclaiming Jesus -- just as Bassel has.","URL":"","Email":"","Pronunciation":"","ContextID":"AG200","ContextName":"Northern African and Middle Eastern Peoples","SunriseDate":"2026-06-06T00:00:00","SunsetDate":"2026-09-04T00:00:00","SunriseDateUnix":1780704000,"SunsetDateUnix":1788480000,"SunriseDateRaw":"2026-06-06T00:00:00","SunsetDateRaw":"2026-09-04T00:00:00"},{"PrayerID":"bb7b151d-5148-f111-9a90-6045bd483aa4","SubfolderId":"90ffea55-7d1d-4d51-a740-efeed5f247c3","Heading":"Bangkok, Thailand","LocationID":"2ffdadc0-25ac-45aa-89aa-75dd0d1e958b","Location":"Thailand","TypeID":176500008,"TypeName":"Urban Centers","RequestText":"(BANG-kok) - Thank you all for your prayers for the Bangkok Ministry Center Bible study. This trait comes in handy with their call to ministry that revolves around making connections with college students while looking for opportunities for evangelism and discipleship. They have a few friends who are ready to help on different campuses, but not all the campuses are open to allowing outsiders to come on campus. This means that students at those particular locations have to be the catalysts for evangelism. Please pray for Tanner and Sarah as they determine strategies for the different campuses in the area and for this commitment that they are ready to share. More than 500 people attended from around the world, including more than 160 from Taiwan. Only one non-Chinese participant attended. It was an amazing four days of worship, Bible teaching, prayer, and encouragement in Mandarin, Indonesian, and one Hakka dialect, as well as reconnecting with new and longtime Hakka friends and receiving updates and progress reports on efforts to bring Jesus to Hakka people around the world. Three Taiwan Baptist churches were represented by five participants. Participants remained healthy and focused, and everyone traveled safely to and from the conference with minimal travel issues, clearly seeing God's hand at work. Pray that Chinese and Hakka believers will participate in future Hakka mission trips around the world. Pray that Taiwan Baptist churches will become more involved in international Hakka missions. Pray for more Baptist churches to join the work to reach unreached Hakka peoples around the world. As an old proverb says, \"Wherever the sun shines, there are Chinese. Easter Sunday brought much cause for celebration, as several people were baptized and others joined the fellowship. Another baptism celebration has been scheduled for two new believers and one additional person who desires to join the church. God's provision has also been evident in practical ways. Only a few months ago, my husband and I stumbled across one of the only universities in Nairobi where we can regularly go on the campus. Normally, we are denied access, so we are praising the Lord for opening doors to this campus. We have been spending time doing evangelism there alongside a few church members. Recently, I met a group of four young women in their last semester of school. We sat together during their lunch break for a few hours, and I got to share the gospel with them. Since then, I have been able to read the Bible with them, and we are going through the 'I AM' statements in the Book of John. The young women have had a lot of really good questions. One of them, Becky, sent me a message saying that she had been praying to meet someone who could share God's Word with her! Pray for Becky and her friends.
